Yoga Class Descriptions

Hatha Yoga

The most popular yoga in the West, Hatha is translated as “ha” meaning sun, and “tha” meaning moon. This refers to the balance of masculine aspects—active, hot, sun— and feminine aspects—receptive, cool, moon— within all of us. Hatha yoga cultivates balance by uniting these aspects.

Hatha yoga is a complete, holistic path of wellness that includes the performance of various physical postures (held for 4-6 yogic breaths), mudras (hand gestures), breathwork (pranayama), and restful meditation. Accessible to most abilities.

 

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a quiet practice consisting of floor-based postures that are held for three to five minutes. Yin yoga targets the connective tissue, addressing mobility of the hips, pelvis, and spine. The postures are performed with a focus on the breath to release resistance and activate the flow of prana.

If you’re looking for more flexibility in your legs, hips, shoulders, and back, seeking stress reduction, recovering from an illness/injury, or looking to regain your quality of life, this class is definitely for you. 

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is a deeply restful practice in which your body is fully supported by bolsters, blankets, straps, and blocks. Long holds of these gentle, meditative postures invite your muscles to melt and your mind to calm.

If you’re seeking stress reduction, recovering from an illness/injury, or looking to regain your quality of life, this class is definitely for you. 

 

Form Flow Yoga

A slower, alignment-based flow practice characterized by stringing postures together through fluid movements from one pose to the next while syncing your breath with each movement. 

Develop strength, flexibility, and balance, while establishing proper alignment through this dynamic practice. Accessible to most abilities.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Vinyasa flow yoga is a more rigorous, yang practice characterized by stringing postures together through fluid movements from one pose to the next while syncing your breath with each movement. 

Develop strength, flexibility, balance, and stamina through this dynamic and invigorating practice. If you’re looking to up your game and ready for a challenge, this class is for you!

 

Moon Flow Yoga

The counter to Vinyasa flow yoga, moon flow yoga is a more yin, cooling practice also characterized by stringing postures together through fluid movements from one pose to the next while syncing your breath with each movement. 

Develop strength, flexibility, and balance through this dynamic practice. Accessible to most abilities.

Veterans Yoga

Enjoy a FREE, weekly yoga class open to all military veterans and active-duty members. Significant others are invited to join the same class for only $5. Practice in the comfort of a safe, supportive community. Choose the yoga class you wish to attend and sign up in person with proof of military card.

Brought to you in partnership with 4th H.O.O.A.H. to support active duty, returning Veterans, and family members with health-inspired services and programs. Participants receive a mat, block, and strap after their 5th visit.

Meditation offers countless benefits and plays a crucial role in the development of higher levels of awareness; the ability to see things clearly. It is a practice that is necessary for spiritual evolution and leads to direct communication with spirit.
