Everyday Bliss – Types of Massage Offered
Otherwise known as “classic massage” used to support the long-term health and rehabilitative care of individuals and athletes. Firm but gentle pressure is used with long flowing movements for total relaxation. Increased circulation and relief of muscle tension are the results of this massage.
Therapeutic massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. The movement is slower and the pressure is varied to concentrate on areas of tension and pain. Some soreness may occur after the massage.
Sports massage emphasizes prevention of injury as well as soothing sore muscles and tendons. Not just for athletes, sports massage can be beneficial for anyone with injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion. The student massage therapist in training will perform this technique on a massage table while the client is fully clothed.
Chair massage is a seated massage that is 20 minutes in length. The student massage therapist in training focuses on your back, shoulders and neck and arms. Chair massage is done over clothes and doesn’t require any oils or lotions.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Relax and receive the “laying on of hands” to recharge your life force energy (Chi) which naturally flows through you. Experience a boost in your vibrational field.
